Creative ways of using old wine bottles at home

I've recently become more interested in environment and generally healthier lifestyle, so I've decided to present to you this idea for the reuse of old bottles of wine. Many people would say that the use of a few glass bottles would not affect particularly on global pollution of the planet, but if we consider that each of the 500 million citizens of the countries in the European Union throw around 513 kg garbage per year, even those 2-3 kg trash saved would be very important.

Let's move away from the the environmental topics and look at the ways in which we can use old glass bottles. I prefer glass for storing water, because unlike plastic the glass is not harmful and does not give specific taste of the water. Also from the aesthetic point of view glass stands a much better on the table. A cleared glass bottle can be used as a vase, lamp or even bookshelf. Or as in my case, for storing my oat breakfast. While most people are using jars for this purpose, I find bottles for unconventional and an interesting option.
